Our vapour thermometers consist of two or three indivisible parts:
1. A Probe, where the liquid is still in the presence of its vapour, the pressure of which depends on its temperature.
2. A flexible pipe, always filled with a liquid, transferring the pressure.
3. A manometer at the pressure in the probe, pressure converted on the dial into units of temperature.
They are divided into two families: "Remote reading thermometers" and "Direct reading thermometers."
